Plumb-Tech Trade School, Southern Colorado’s First School Supporting the Colorado State Plumbing Board’s Newly Mandated Continuing Education Program is Now Enrolling for Classes

New school provides continuing education credits required for all licensed Residential, Journeyman, and Master plumbers

Colorado Springs, Colo – June 25, 2021 – Plumb-Tech Trade School, a Colorado Attested Plumbing CE Provider registered with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA), is now enrolling classes to support all licensed plumbers looking to fulfill the Colorado State Plumbing Board’s newly mandated requirements for continuing education. Plumb-Tech began holding classes on June 19, 2021 and will offer multiple classes each month on Saturdays for the rest of the year. Those interested in enrolling can click here to schedule their class.

In 2019, for the first time in Colorado’s history, Governor Jared Polis signed HB 19-1086 into law, requiring all licensed Residential, Journeyman, and Master Plumbers to complete eight (8) hours of Continuing Education (CE) every twelve months in order to renew a license after the first renewal.

“We are honored to be selected as one of the first organizations by the state of Colorado to provide continuing education to our fellow tradespeople and are excited to start offering classes this month,” said Diego Lujan, Founder of Plumb-Tech.

“With technology in our industry changing so quickly these days, it’s critical that plumbers of all levels of expertise are equipped with the latest information. Building code is very different from what it used to be, and we need to ensure plumbers are providing the best plumbing service, methods, and technologies to consumers. I’ve gotten many requests from plumbers across Colorado and even from other states asking if they can take this class, so I’m excited to get started.”

State requirements include a minimum of eight hours of continuing education that must be completed every 12 months during the license cycle. Plumb-Tech’s new class offers plumbers the ability to earn all eight hours on a single Saturday, making it as convenient as possible, especially for plumbers outside of Colorado Springs who need to commute to take the course.

2020 was an aggressive year of growth for Diego Lujan. While working with the State of Colorado to create Plumb-Tech Trade School, his company, Alphalete Plumbing, Heating, Air, expanded its team of experts, including partnering with a 30-year veteran of the industry and once ‘plumber to the stars.’ Lujan launched the region’s first virtual plumbing service that was celebrated across Southern Colorado during the rise of COVID-19. Alphalete was named the 2020 Hispanic Business of the Year by the Springs Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and Lujan was named a 2021 Rising Star by the Colorado Springs Business Journal.
